Observation and Reflection from a Typhoon

"Observation and Reflection from a Typhoon"

It is unforgettable that at the end of July, typhoon signal No 10 was hoisted in Hong Kong, the last time was happened in 13 years ago. The Typhoon Vicente was battered the city, gale-force winds toppled many trees, and hundreds of passengers had to spend the night on trains or in station halls because the a tree fell on an overhead power cable near the Tai Po Market station at about 11:30pm, shortly after the Honk Kong Observatory issued the No 9 storm signal. Some commuters criticized the rail operator for not arranging buses to take them to their destinations and they complain that railway staff did not tell them when services could be resumed. Under the poor weather, I think stay in the train or station is the safest arrangement for passengers, even the railway staff let the commuters leave the station, they still cannot be able to the destination since the bus service was stopped. And also the staff had paid HK$200 to several angry passengers to take taxis. The commuters should not be too selfish as they have to sympathize that the difficult of staff because they still have to work. I am very glad that when Vicente came to Hong Kong, I was stay at home and enjoy my homework J
